Pink hair is currently a world-wide trend. Whether it be lockdown inspiration, or wanting a new look pink hair is an uplifting, happy colour that feels light and bright while also having the benifit of blending regrowth. Its not loud or in your face, instead its an easy-wear colour that suits practically anyone. Even well known celebrities have tried this new pink hair trend including Madonna, Julianne Hough, Dua Lipa, Cardi B and Katy Perry. There are so many different shades, colours and depths of pink from pastels to magenta, multi-tones or even peachy-pinks.
Pastel colours are great to try some new or for a subtle change. It gives off a slight hue of pink where as bright pinks are more of a statement look. Most pastel pinks give off a more “worn” and edgy vibe to create a new look that is trendy but not as much maintenance as it subtly fades out.
Multi-toned pinks tend to have more than one shaded colour of pink that shows off the different dimensions and textures in the hair. Adding multiple tones of pink to the hair can give a totally new colour and change the effect and tones. Curling the hair shows off this colour the best by giving it texture.
Looking after your pink hair:
-Wash your hair with cool water to be sure you’re not stripping the colour.
-Ensure that you are using a salon colour protective shampoo and conditioner so as to maintain the colour.
-Use a hydrating or repairing treatment to ensure your hair is in good condition so as to hold the colour for longer.
-Try to come into the salon for regular colour refresh so that the pink is maintained. (Typically toners last about 4-6 weeks depending on the condition of your hair, the tone of pin, and how often you wash your hair.
How to get pink hair:
A pink toner will stick to pre-lightened hair, so if your hair has already been lightened and you were curious to jump into this trend book in for a consultation to make sure that this would be the right colour and service for you.
If you have not got pre-lightened hair and you want to join this trend then there are a number of different services you can do depending on the amount of power you were wanting in your pink.
– Full head, half head or partial foils will allow some of your natural hair to come through and add dimention as well as having pink coming up to your roots. This method will make you feel lighter at your roots with helping reduce regrowth.
– Balayage will keep your natural hair at the roots blended into the pink hair at the ends, this is a more low maintenance service to ensure a better grow out and keeping some depth.
-If you were wanting the full all over pink you can get a full head scalp bleach. This will lighten your whole head so there is no natural coming through. This is a more high maintenance colour but well worth it if you are wanting that bright, vibrant pink colour.
Call up or come in to the salon to try out the new pink hair trend for yourself.
